Reading Programs and more
The Usborne Books Reading Program is a valuable addition to the English language teacher's resources:
The Usborne Books Reading Program is a collection of over 130 titles, graded in seven levels and covering a wide range of subjects, both fiction and non-fiction.
For children - For parents - For schools
Children are won over by the fresh, engaging writing and illustration on perennially popular subjects.
Parents can support their child's reading in the vital early stages, knowing the books are underpinned by Usborne values and a sound framework.
Teachers can use the Usborne books in class, for homework and in the library to stretch the able and engage those in need of support.
Phonics-based Reading
Usborne Phonics Readers have been created in consultation with a language expert, taking into account the latest research on the most effective ways of teaching reading.
Usborne Phonics Readers are lively and amusing stories with delightful illustrations by Stephen Cartwright that complement the text and are designed to stimulate further interest. Fold-out pages add to the enjoyment and involvement of the child.
When reading a story with your child, encourage him or her to sound out the words as you go. Soon most children will start to sound out the words for themselves. This is an excellent way of helping to develop the fundamental reading skill.
